The Seasons at Priskilly.
Priskilly Forest has been in the Evans family for four generations and welcomed guests from all corners of the world for over 70 years. Great Grandma offered traditional, homely and relaxing accommodation (featured in woman’s own magazine 1950s) and today we try and offer the same experience to our guests together with luxury and modern amenities that guests expect of a 5-star establishment.
Today Our 5 star Country House boasts the hallmarks of a traditional Georgian Manor House with tall ceilings and original architectural features, although there was a dwelling at Priskilly Forest in 1326 (Black Book of St. David’s)
Original and ornate antique furnishings are found throughout the house, with large Welsh dressers, dining tables and bedroom furniture. Local art and artists paintings hang on walls together with family portraits and memorabilia.
Ongoing works at Priskilly Forest continue, this year we have been restoring our vaulted cellar, a fascinating, insightful and ore-inspiring project, the cellar will be open soon to be enjoyed by guests pre dinner or simply to relax with an Antipasti style rustic supper.
During 2020 we want to reinvent our Shooting association with shooting and Fishing days and Breaks, available late summer into winter – please contact us direct for further details.
We try and use local products as much as possible with original Melin Tregwynt Blankets and Cushions, local products and local artists.
The changing seasons at Priskilly Forest make each visit a different experience, winter into Spring boasts elegant daffodils, winter pansies and snowdrops, Spring brings a beautiful Bluebell Wood and a Carpet of Wild Garlic followed by eye catching rhododendrons that sweeps the driveway to Priskilly Forest. As summer blooms start to tire, bright red, pink and blue Hydrangeas offer brightness as summer turns to autumn and the abundance of trees shed their leaves in preparation for winter.
